The jump from merely being a reader and subscriber of your blog to being an enthusiastic customer will be made easier if you absorb and understand one specific concept. You have to offer your subscribers VALUE if you want them to consider buying from you.
So how do you do that? If you fill in the subscribe form here on my blog, you will now be taken to a ‘Thank You’ page on which I offer you a free report about listbuilding. For subscribers who have been with me for a while, you may recall something different, and you would be right. However, the last couple of days showed me that I was not using my blog in the most efficient way.
Over on IBO Toolbox I have created a new PR that describes how I discovered my mistake and how changing it had a sudden and dramatic result. This is the main message in my PR
“No matter how brilliant you, your product, or your services are, if you can’t convert your list from prospect to buyer, you do not have a business. The biggest list in the world is worthless if no one is buying. You must also realize that your list doesn’t make you money. It is your relationship with the people on your list that makes you money!! – Stuart Ross”
Wrapping up, these are the steps I took to implement what I have learned
- After subscribing here – and it’s a double opt-in – new subscribers now go to a thank you page where they get access to a free report
- Just in case they skipped that, they will get the same link in their opt-in email
- 7 days after opt-in, they will get a message offering them another free report and inviting them to join CLB – no cost listbuilding and marketing education website
- All blog subscribers will get a brief broadcast message whenever there is new material here on my blog.
