How to attract and collect your leads

In today’s post, I’m going to give you a couple of alternatives for ways to build your list.

To start with you need an autoreponder, because that’s where your list members are going to end up. I mentioned the one I use in one of the follow ups if you have already joined my subscribers. However if you aren’t on my list, I’ll say it again.

Are you offering real value?

The jump from merely being a reader and subscriber of your blog to being an enthusiastic customer will be made easier if you absorb and understand one specific concept. You have to offer your subscribers VALUE if you want them to consider buying from you.

So how do you do that?  If you fill in the subscribe form here on my blog, you will now be taken to a ‘Thank You’ page on which I offer you a free report about listbuilding.  For subscribers who have been with me for a while, you may recall something different, and you would be right.  However, the last couple of days showed me that I was not using my blog in the most efficient way.

Make the most of your available time

Many Internet Marketers complain that there are just not enough hours in the day even to do what they need to, for keeping their business active, let alone all the extras they would LIKE to do.

I’ve been guilty of this myself the last few months but a little revision of the list of absolute essentials has got me back on track.

One thing I have not kept up is to watch constantly for any new techniques to build my list. As a result, something almost escaped my attention before the owner closed off access to it.

Nuts and Bolts of Listbuilding

If you have read other articles about Contact List Builder here or elsewhere you may know that it comprises a set of programs that together make up a toolset for internet marketers.

Given that your primary objective is to bring new people to your business AND that doing that means finding leads, what are these basic tools and how are they used?

Do cultural differences affect the way you do business?

I’m a Brit OK?  We British have a reputation for being reserved in our dealings with other people.  Maybe that’s wrong and maybe it’s right but I feel that in my business and in my personal life, there are lines not to cross and places I should not go when talking to other people.

Recently that led to coming smack up against a business colleague who evidently thinks that I am being negative and something of a wimp and because of that I’m losing out on potential business. I have to disagree and this blog post is about the two sides of that argument.

Leads System Network has launched

I have thrown my hat in the ring and decided to join the newly launched Leads System Network, based on the referrals I collected in pre-launch. Much as I love Contact List Builder, I acknowledge that some people find the system difficult where it involves joining several different programs including an autoresponder, lead capture page creator and so on. Did your autoresponder let you down?

A lot of people have had recent issues with autoresponders, in particular with the industry leader Aweber. I was clicking on safelist mail links and getting errors and 404s all over the place.  Not good for me or the advertiser.

What I heard was that they had a DDOS attack. So why should that worry you?    Continue reading

When the penny dropped

It’s very galling to look back and think how much time I have wasted trying to promote products and services without building a list. I’ve even overlooked previous offers to join Contact List Builder!   However, I have finally seen the light and realized the enormous value of what I am doing here.  Continue reading

Why I do what I do how I do it!

Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do.
– John Wooden, US Basketball coach

Starting out, here is some info about the product and company I advertise and why you might not think that it was my primary business.

BodyByVi is a weightloss product range marketed by a company called Visalus and I decided to start promoting it after using it successfully for a few months.

Many marketers get so enthused about their main product that they concentrate their advertising on it exclusively and don’t even give a prospective customer an opportunity to express more interest via a form included in the ad. I confess to being absolutely guilty of making this mistake in the past, and have now radically changed the type of primary advertising that I do.

The type of ad I now use is called a squeeze page or lead capture page and you absolutely HAVE to get familiar with this format and know how to create one and  store the information, because it is fundamental to listbuilding.

However, although BodyByVi give me a capture page, I’m actually not using it – this is why. There are so many BodyByVi pages out there, that someone searching on Google is very unlikely to hit mine first. Also, I cannot customize it to feed directly into my GVO autoresponder or set up personalized follow up messages.

I’ve found that I can attract many MORE visitors to my product by offering to help my visitors build THEIR business.  The marketing system I invite them to use is Contact List Builder and that is what I advertise.

The reason CLB is so very good is that the steps that you need to take to make it work are very clearly documented and support is very easy to get.  You can set the basic system up in a couple of hours – yes even if you are a non techie! Interested visitors to my CLB ads enter their name and email on a simple form embedded in the ad and hey presto –
I HAVE A NEW LEAD!

Now I can send them information about my BodyByVi product as well as Contact List Builder. As just about everyone knows someone in their family or friends who is trying to lose weight, I get potentially more than one visitor to my product site because with a little nudge from me, my initial contact will pass on the info.
